I agree with your thoughts about this being an unacceptable event. I'd go farther than that and say it was a disgrace that casts a cloud over all professionals and spiritual leaders who sincerely want to serve others. I don't think there was enough coverage on this incident and I'm amazed that he still has a website where he's "apologizing" to the families of the victims. Incredible.

the road to success is always dotted with challenges--and yes, naysayers, but proper mindset can eliminate all possible implications of these problems.

If i may add, seeking an advice from an expert with experience to boot can also help you plan ahead with possible problems.

thanks. great post! :)

Hi Nina,

I've had similar thoughts in the past, and it actually led me to create a web-based tool for keeping track of such a personal code, and sharing it with others (if you want). I even named it Personal Code! I'm still working on it, and I welcome any feedback, so please try it out if you're interested.

<a>personalcode.net</a>

Thanks,
Chadwick

This is a great resource, Nina! And I agree, confusion is the biggest obstacle for coaches who want IAC certification. Sometimes coaches think they're ready and they're not. Other times, they are more than ready, but don't realize it. Most often, they are 90-95% ready, but just need some help tweaking a couple of things - and then they are truly masterful and breeze through the certification process! I'm looking forward to more coaches getting IAC Certification. At SCM, we've noticed an up tick in interest in getting certified by the IAC.

Nina - thanks for the great work that you do. As someone who has submitted hundred of articles, and continue to do so, I wanted to share a resource that we've used to speed up the submission process - Article Announcer.

This is a program I purchased from Jason Potash and it has been a boon for streamlining the submission process. My assistant can submit as many as 25 articles in one hour.

People may look at the price and hesitate, but if article submission is a critical piece of your marketing this program is well worth the price.

Also, if any of your readers are VA's, it could be a tremendous service for them to offer to their clients.

Best wishes,

Alicia Smith, DiSC Ninja

From my experience with coaching biz owners, it seems that as soon as they really step up into their business and things start to grow - that is when the critics show up.

So having critics show up becomes a sign of success! In a sense we should want the critics then (hehe). If you don't have anyone criticizing you yet, are you playing a big enough game?

Andrea Lee calls is your BOP statement - being Bold, Outrageous and Provocative. Standing for something in your business and not being afraid to say it loud and clear. Seems the most successful people do this the best (and get criticism as a result).

The key is, of course, to find a way to shelter yourself from the critics and don't let them slow you down or throw you off track.

Nina,
What a great reminder. Often we are our own biggest obstacle. And that is often some made up thing in our head - our imagination gone wild (not in the good way of going wild).
I especially like the re-focusing on serving and inspiring you mention as with that perspective we can really be our best and share that with others.
Thanks, Alison
